EBLI Assessments should be given upon intake, or to determine if the child needs services. If the child's Rosner score is above 90% and his/her fluency is at or above expectations (including comprehension of reading), have a conversation with the classroom teacher about student need. Maybe you should be pulling someone with greater need. This does NOT meant that the child wouldn't benefit from support, but the support may come at a later time.

Remember: Spelling and writing often lag two years behind reading ability. While we want to work on handwriting, spelling and writing, reading proficiency is are first goal.
